Wells Fargo has launched a new cohort in its Innovation Incubator (IN2) program, focusing on building decarbonization. Three startups, Blip Energy – optimizes the energy use of high-load appliances, Evercloak – refrigerant-free dehumidification systems, and Transaera – dehumidification system integrates with standard HVAC systems, each received $250,000 to develop technologies aimed at reducing energy consumption and emissions in buildings. The cohort, supported by the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), is addressing different aspects of building energy management, including energy optimization, cooling, and dehumidification. These startups were chosen for their market-ready technologies that can have a meaningful impact on building sustainability.

As part of the program, the startups will receive technical support from NREL’s Building Energy Science Group, collaborating on solutions like smart battery platforms, refrigerant-free cooling systems, and energy-efficient dehumidification technologies. Wells Fargo’s IN2 program, which has now supported 75 companies, aims to help accelerate the adoption of clean energy solutions and increase the energy efficiency and resilience of buildings.
