Private equity firm KKR has acquired a 25% stake in Enilive, the sustainable mobility division of Eni, for $3.2 billion. Enilive focuses on decarbonizing transportation through biorefining, biomethane, and smart mobility solutions. The investment values the unit at $12.8 billion and supports its goal of doubling biorefining capacity by 2026 and scaling up to 5 million tons per year by 2030.
This partnership aligns with KKR’s strategy to back energy transition projects, leveraging their infrastructure expertise to help Enilive grow and expand internationally. The deal supports Eni’s plan to attract capital for sustainable ventures while maintaining cash flow from traditional businesses.
