EU LIFE Programme: €571M for Green Projects in 2024
The European Commission’s LIFE Programme is seeking proposals for projects that aim to bring green ideas to life and address environmental and climate challenges.
London-based cleantech startup Sunswap has raised £17.3M in funding to further develop and produce its zero-emission transport refrigeration units (TRUs). The funding round was led by BGF, with additional investments from Shell Ventures, Dutch venture capital fund Move Energy, and existing supporters Barclays and Clean Growth Fund.
Sunswap, founded in 2020 and led by CEO Michael Lowe, is focused on decarbonizing the global cold chain logistics industry. The company’s flagship product, the Endurance TRU, eliminates the need for diesel by utilizing battery technology and solar panels installed on trailer roofs, offering a sustainable alternative for transport refrigeration.
