The Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) and the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG) have published a detailed mapping between the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) and TNFD’s recommendations. This shows strong alignment, with all 14 TNFD disclosures included in ESRS. The collaboration aims to simplify compliance for companies under the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), ensuring clear and consistent reporting on nature-related issues.
Patrick de Cambourg, EFRAG SRB Chair, emphasized that this mapping enhances transparency in corporate reporting by clarifying overlaps and harmonizing standards across ESRS and TNFD. It helps companies disclose impacts, risks, and opportunities related to nature effectively, supporting stakeholders and sustainable development goals.
EFRAG and TNFD will continue working together to develop practical guidance and tools. Their goal is to help companies navigate environmental reporting requirements under the CSRD and other frameworks, ensuring they provide accurate and meaningful information on their sustainability efforts.
